Shakespeare’s London

by user38915

Shakespeare is omni-present in the place of his birth, Stratford-upon-Avon but sadly neglected where he worked, London. Apart from the wonderfully reconstructed Globe (made possible by an American Sam Wanamaker) there is hardly anything to commemorate him beyond the concealed remains of the Rose and Globe theatres. The only place where we know for certain he lived doesn’t even have a plaque. This app – Shakespeare’s London – uses the location-based features of an iPhone and old prints and maps to conjure up the buried memories of the Bard.
