This has been running on a computer 24/7 for over 20 years in an attempt to get an algorithm to replicate a two line poem as a small contribution to the question how long would it take monkeys to replicate the works of Shakespeare by chance. Here is the live version.
It shows the original version, the current version (ie since you logged on) and the “best yet”. For over 15 years it has not progressed from getting 13 out of the 47 characters correct. This is beginning to look like a multi-billion year project – unless an artificial intelligence company such as Deep Mind can help us out.
